Adventure Seed Fiction: The Nevada Pestilence Part 1
Tweet The Nevada Pestilence Part 1 by Stu Venable Personal Journal of John Haunt November 1872 Some time ago, I was told by the conductor, a tall gaunt man with graying beard and mustache, that we passed through the Utah territory. We spoke briefly of the parched nature of the landscape, the sparse signs of life being only the occasional scrub brush, tenaciously hanging on to the cracked clay earth, sapping the last bits of moisture to sustain its mean existence. For it is in these strange alien wildernesses, the gaps between civilization and order, that mankind finds the true threats. After my brief conversation with the conductor, I closed my eyes to rest,. Guns & Cthulhu
Tweet Here is the thing about using guns in Call of Cthulhu: Guns should not be the answer to any and every problem that pops up. Tweet What with the next convention being three months away, I’ve started preparing for my next set of convention games. The biggest change is the system. I’m going to run GURPS games, rather than Savage Worlds. While I do think that Savage Worlds is uniquely suited to RPG newcomers and convention games, I heard some things from the last con that made me want to switch back to GURPS. Some people I spoke with had not very fun experiences playing GURPS at the con. That hurts my dark, withered soul. I love GURPS. I proselytize GURPS. Everyone should have fun playing GURPS. Anyway, I’ve set some goals for myself for the next batch of convention games: 1. More Character Choices. In the last few games, I provided about eight or nine characters for a six-player game. I try … Read entire article »
